Another overdue post..

Oops, well I haven't posted anything for ages again.

17 days after my last post, our little bundle of joy arrived.

Neve Isobel was born at 5:15pm after a 12 hour labour.

The labour itself wasn't too bad and I managed to get through it with just gas and air but unfortunately I had to have a bit of repair work done afterwards so didn't get to go home as soon as I was hoping to.
Anyway...after 2 nights in hospital I went home and then the madness began!!

It took a little while for my brain to cope with everything that had happened but with a lot of time and support from our families we are finally there.

Neve is a really good baby and seems to be sleeping through every night now - she has been for the last month anyway, after a really colicky spell which meant I hardly ever got to sleep till 3am!

Can't believe the year is over already..and what a year it has been!
Here's to 2012!

Cheers!

2 weeks (hopefully no more) and counting...

Well I'm 38 weeks today so that means it's 2 weeks until my due date!
I'm really hoping I don't go overdue, I'm getting impatient already!!

Been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions which I can actually feel now (some are really tight and uncomfortable) so hopefully that means things are progressing as they should and it won't be too long until the baby decides to arrive!
I do feel a bit like a ticking time bomb already, any twinge makes you wonder if "it's happening!"

Getting worried about whether I have enough of all my baby clobber, have to remind myself how easy it is to buy things now. If we haven't got a certain something we can probably get it from the 24hr asda/tesco or order it online and it be delivered the next day.

MUST STAY CALM!!!

Almost September...

I can't believe September is nearly here, the month we've been waiting for since we found out in January (a month into the pregnancy) that we were expecting.

I thought the last trimester would go really slowly but it has FLOWN by! (This I'm very happy about!).

I had a midwife appointment today which went well - my blood pressure had been high last week and I had lots of check ups for the few days afterwards until it went down on Friday.
Today it was down to it's normal sort of level (120/84) and I don't have to go to the midwife again until I'm 39 weeks + 1 day - if I last that long...

I was really achy and uncomfortable yesterday but have had loads more energy today so made the most of it and went shopping with my mum for the afternoon. I think it's going to be a case of taking each day at a time as I can feel great one day then rotten the next.

Getting sleepy now so I'm going to think about going to be. Hopefully I'll have a good day again tomorrow!!

A very overdue update!

Hi!

I've been really rubbish at keeping this updated. I can't believe it was MARCH that I last posted - time has flown by!

I'm not almost 37 weeks pregnant so don't have very long to go at all.

We found out in May that we were expecting a little girl :)

We're pretty much ready for her arrival, nursery is decorated and furnished, clothes and all the baby stuff has been bought - just got to wait for out pram to arrive.

I finished work last week which was really strange.
Up until today I've had things to keep me occupied though - two lots of visitors and last minute baby shopping - but now that's done I've just got to play the waiting game until the little one decides she wants to enter the world! (I don't blame her staying in there at the moment, it's currently tipping it down - usually I would complain but I am quite happy to be having a cool summer this year!)

I haven't been feeling too bad during the pregnancy but my blood pressure was high the last few times I saw the midwife so they're keeping a watchful eye on me - luckily it had gone back down when they tested it again today so I need to relaaaaax and keep calm!

I will try and keep this updated more regularly now i'm going to be sitting at home most of the day for the next few weeks!

Big news!

Hello, I can finally update this with some news...
We're expecting our first sprog! The due date is the 19th of September and we're so excited!
Just started to show this last week, but to anyone who doesn't know, I just look like I've had a few too many pies...

It's a bit late so i'll update this properly soon but I wanted to test out this fancy countdown thing I found on TheBump.com - one of the many pregnancy sites I've been pursuing

Goodnight!
